Luvely Joins Tiesto
In Search of Sunrise Tour 2008
It had been decided by the LUVELY crew that the club would not be appearing at any more extra events beyond our last scheduled ARCHES gig in the summer- at least until 2009, as work on our LUVELY RECORDINGS record label had seriously taken a back seat due to all our extra commitments over the last twelve months, instead opting to concentrate on our regular monthly events for the remainder of the year. However, some gigs are quite simply just too important to turn down!
On the 9th of August the worlds most famous DJ descended on Edinburgh with his 'IN SEARCH OF SUNRISE' tour. The Luvely team were delighted to be asked as the Scottish Capitals leading club to join TIESTO and host his concerts VIP arena.
With all the hype generated by the local media, all 10,000 tickets had sold weeks in advance, so it was obviously going to be a busy night right from the off. The Luvely crew had already spent a hectic day setting up alongside the Tiesto crew, and although the language barrier had been slightly problematical, had found time to learn much about the multi million pound, state of the art light & sound stage being assembled for the gig.
The Ingleston venue filled up in record time, testament to the efficient work of the door & security teams, and the show was underway to the delight of what seemed to be a never ending sea of people. By 10pm, support acts AIRBASE & FIRSTSTATE had given way to Tiesto's exclusive 5 hour set- a simply stunning display of his latest work all remixed live, proving yet again why he still occupies the number one spot as the finest DJ in the world!
